[Text on screen: Jessica Scott, MD 2020 Resident Graduate Glaucoma Fellow At Columbia University Department of Ophthalmology] Jessica Scott, MD: Love my choice of going to OSU. The faculties are super supportive in whatever endeavors that you're interested in. [Text on screen: Julia Reid, MD 2015 Resident Graduate Pediatric Ophthalmologist Children's Hospital of Philadelphia] Julia Reid, MD: Really wonderful interview experience at OSU, and I felt so comfortable for the entire day. Everyone gave us a really warm welcome, and I could instantly feel the community that they had in the department. It was fantastic. Landon Colling, MD: I'm Landon Colling, and I also did my residency at Ohio State and loved every minute of it. It was great, really felt like it was a team, that we all worked together, so it was very team-oriented. Varma, MD: Over the course of three years, we saw a tremendous volume of patients and performed a tremendous amount of surgeries and procedures. [Series of videos of doctors performing eye examinations on patients] The combination of volume and complexity is serving me well, even to this day, when I feel prepared for almost anything that walks into my clinic. Colling, MD: Lots of good faculty, a very, very strong clinical training program. And that's where- Baston, MD: Oh, a lot of surgery. Colling, MD: Yes, lots of surgery, and that's what we really liked about it. [Series of images of doctors performing an eye surgery] Varma, MD: Complete support from each of your faculty members, who not only make themselves approachable and available but who, over time, become your friends and cheerleaders, genuinely invested in your growth and success. [Series of images of faculty members] Reid, MD: I found that the faculty had a very astute sense of my skill level as I progressed through residency.I really appreciated the balance they provided of supervision and allowing me to be autonomous as a surgeon and clinician. [Series of images of doctors at Ohio State] When I was a third-year resident, I had the chance to go on a surgical trip to Nicaragua with some surgeons who had also done their training at OSU. So that was one of the moments when I felt how well OSU had prepared me, surgically. It was really rewarding just to see the impact that you can have on people who have really limited access to care. [Series of images of eye care efforts in Nicaragua] That experience inspired me to do another volunteer surgical trip last year in Ecuador. [Series of images of eye care efforts in Ecuador] Varma, MD: I sincerely hope you enjoy your interview experience and consider Ohio State when you're ready to make your decision. I wish you guys good luck. Early, MD: My top-notch surgical training has allowed me to confidently become a busy cataract surgeon at one of the leading practices in our country.
