Yes. We do offer Ohio State Medical School students the opportunity to apply to the MSTP via the Advanced Training Applicant process.

We have three Core graduate programs: Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, Neuroscience Graduate Studies Program, and the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program. We do partner with a number of additional PhD programs across OSU's campus. For a current list of our partnering graduate programs, please visit this page. If your research interest falls outside of the Core graduate programs and you'd like some guidance, please contact the MSTP office to discuss additional opportunities.

First-year students begin the summer semester (beginning on May 7, 2024) with a lab rotation. Exceptions will be made for applicants who will not graduate until summer semester/quarter.

You will be limited to a maximum of one (1) graduate program on the secondary application. Please keep in mind that you'll be required to send in a personal statement specific to the graduate program you select.

Yes, The Ohio State University Graduate Admissions Office requires all applicants to submit official transcripts (this is in addition to the transcripts that the applicant sends as part of the AMCAS application). Please do not send transcripts to the MSTP office address. An official transcript from each college or university attended listing all courses and grades must be received via one of the following methods:

Our applicants interview with two faculty, two current students and our MSTP Faculty Director(s)

Our applicants interview with three faculty, two current students and our MSTP director/MSTP associate director.

We do offer rolling admissions decisions for a select few. All other interviewed applicants are notified throughout the spring (January-March).

Unfortunately, you cannot be considered for the MD-only program if you're not considered for the MSTP. However, you can pursue your PhD application. Please reach out to the respective graduate program (selected on your secondary) to be considered.
