Carolyn Sue Dixon, M.D., Greenland, New Hampshire, passed from this earth Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Born June 15, 1940, she was the daughter of Raymond Newell and Virgie (Ash) Dixon. She graduated from Waynesfield-Goshen School in 1958. She completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at The Ohio State University
where she was one of eight women in her medical school class. Subsequently, she completed her internship at Maine Medical Center, and residencies in family practice from the University of Colorado Medical Center and psychiatry from Maine Medical Center. She practiced student health medicine at the University of Massachusetts and the University of North Carolina. Carolyn settled in the Exeter, New Hampshire area in 1976 where she maintained a psychiatric practice until 1999. She was a gifted individual who used her God-given talents to assist others.
Carolyn leaves the following family: brother David Dixon (Ph.D.) and wife Felicia (Ph.D.) Selma, Indiana; niece Diane Dungan (Ph.D.) and husband Adam Dungan, Muncie, Indiana; niece Deirdre Fulton (Ph.D.) and husband James Fulton (Ph.D.), Hewitt, Texas; grandnieces Olivia and Madeline Dungan and Jada Fulton, and grandnephew Dane Fulton.
Carolyn loved the ocean and mountain scenery. She enjoyed her home with its view of Great Bay and used it frequently to host friends and family. She was an outgoing person who became deeply involved in the lives of those she knew. Her determination, even when faced with difficult life circumstances, is a testimony to the hope that lived within her.
