WILLIAM M. KAYLOR, M.D., 91, of Lakewood, Ohio and Spanish Wells, Bahamas passed away October 14th at his home in Lakewood. For nearly 30 years he practiced UDr. Kaylor.jpgrology at Lakewood and Fairview General Hospitals. Dr. Kaylor was known for his skill and gentle manner. He was active in many medical societies, including the Cleveland Urologic Society, the Innominatum Medical Society and the Pasteur Club. In 1996, Dr. Kaylor received the Distinguished Physician Award at Lakewood Hospital. Dr Kaylor was raised in Akron, Ohio and was educated at Washington and Jefferson College and Western Reserve School of Medicine. He trained in General Surgery and Urology at Akron City Hospital and the Ohio State University Hospitals and served his country as a doctor in the Navy before starting practice in 1955. He enjoyed many great friends and neighbors, and a wide variety of interests including photography, travel, gardening, music and golf. He was active at Lakewood United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir, in the community hospice program, Lakewood Rotary, and the Men's Garden Club of Cleveland. All in all, he brought great joy to many people and, in turn, enjoyed life fully. Above all, he loved his family. His wife of 44 years, Marilyn, died in 1994. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sharon; a sister, Jayne Turk; two daughters, Deidre Richardson (David) of Fairfax, VA and Kathleen Wagoner (Rick) of Birmingham, MI; a son, William M. Kaylor Jr. M.D. (Kathy) of Minneapolis, MN; and six grandchildren: Melissa and Sarah Richardson, Trip, Scott and Matt Wagoner, and Caroline Kaylor. A family memorial service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church or Lakewood Hospital.
