Thomas S. Renshaw '66, MD Retires 


​Dr. Thomas S. Renshaw is now retired, but has a weekly half day Orthopaedic clinic at Volunteers In Medicine in Hilton Head Island, SC where he and wife of 52 years Carol, who is an Ohio State University graduate with a BS in Nursing, now reside

At the October 2013 Reunion Weekend’s Reunion & Awards Celebration our classmate Dr. Renshaw received the Alumni Achievement Award “for outstanding contributions to the profession of medicine”.  This was based on his career accomplishments including Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Yale University where he was Program Director of the Orthopaedic Surgery residency and Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.  During his career Tom was also President of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and President of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association.  He contributed many refereed publications and a textbook of Pediatric Orthopaedics to the literature.  He is a Vietnam veteran, serving as a U.S. Air Force Flight Surgeon with an F-4 squadron in
1968 – 69.
