Thomas George Grossman, MD, of Venice, Florida, died peacefully at home with family on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer.
Born on May 11, 1949, to Irvin A. "Bus" and Rose (Lund) Grossman, he graduated from Westside High School, Omaha, Nebraska in 1967. Tom entered DePauw University as a Rector Scholar, graduating in 1971. At DePauw, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Tom graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1974 and completed his Residency in obstetrics/gynecology at University of Michigan's University Hospital in 1978.
After graduation from DePauw University, Tom and Molly Cadwallader were married June 5, 1971, in the First Presbyterian Church of Fostoria, Ohio. Tom practiced at Women's Medical Center in Fremont, Ohio, from 1978 until he retired in 2006, delivering many new babies into our world. In addition, he served as a Fremont City Council member from 1984 - 1986. In Venice, Tom enjoyed spending time with friends and family in the historic Eagle Point neighborhood where he served on the homeowners' board.
Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years, Molly Grossman; children, Dan (Jamie) Grossman of Encino, CA, and Lynne Grossman (Vern Bond) of Greenwich, CT; grandchildren, Emma and Ellie Grossman; brother, Bill (Becky) Grossman of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law John (Trish) Cadwallader of Columbus, OH; nieces and nephews, Lindsey (Tim) Blom, Andy Grossman, Kelsey (Brandon) Schlarb, Gavin Cadwallader and Anna Cadwallader.
