Robert C. Landes, MD, 63, of Piqua, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at his residence with his wife, Debbie, at his side. He was born March 14, 1955, in Cleveland, to the late Thayer Eugene and Mary Theresa (Stevens) Landes. He married Deborah Ann Nickerson June 19, 1976, a loving union which would span 42 years.
In addition to his wife, other family members include a son, Steven (Betsy) Landes of Englewood; a daughter, Amy (Fernando) Escobar of Piqua; nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Virginia Landes and Jane Landes both of Lafayette, Colorado, and Ruth Landes and her husband, Rick Andrews, of Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Landes was a graduate of Fairview High School of Fairview Park, the University of Cincinnati and earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He was a Major with the United States Air Force, having served seven years during peacetime.
In 1992, he joined and became a partner with Piqua Family Practice Physicians, serving the Piqua, Miami and Shelby County areas. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church before becoming active with The Valley Church the past several years.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, traveling, rehabilitating homes and sharing his talents with others through participation with many medical mission trips. He will be remembered for his love of family, God, and his positive bedside manner.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at The Valley Church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home and Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at the church.
