A message from the Chair

Dr. Clinchot, Vice Dean for Education and the Chair of Biomedical Education and Anatomy

Welcome to the Department of Biomedical Education and Anatomy. It is, in fact, an honor to serve as the inaugural chair of this new department. Established in The Ohio State University College of Medicine in July of 2016, the department serves as a home to a diverse faculty who have as their primary mission the creation of innovative biomedical curricula that foster the attainment of requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors of our students by creating world-class learning environments. Unique in its mission, the department also fosters the dissemination of best practices for educating the next generation of the biomedical workforce.

The Department of Biomedical Education and Anatomy has three core divisions: Anatomy, led by Kirk McHugh, PhD, Bioethics, led by Ryan Nash, MD, and Biomedical Education. Faculty, staff and students within each division work collaboratively across divisions and departments within the Ohio State College of Medicine and across colleges within the university. This organizational structure facilitates engagement and innovation.
