1. Bioinformatics Specialist

  • Implement and support complex scientific software tools and deployment for basic and clinical research studies as a member of the Department of Biomedical Informatics
  • Perform data analysis for high-dimensional / high throughput next generation sequencing data from wide range of experiments, including but not limited to RNA-seq, targeted sequencing, whole genome sequencing, small-RNA sequencing from various platforms
  • Design and develop integrated data analysis pipelines, contributes to on-going pipeline infrastructure development efforts
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues
  • Work closely with sequencing facilities to provide quality control measures
  • Utilize software tools to accommodate the user requests with a minimum turn-around time
  • Interact with biomedical researchers, providing technical expertise and developing solutions
  • Contribute to grant applications, presentations, papers and posters.

   Salary Range: $55,000 - 62,000

2. Biostatistician I (Job Opening 421032) - Functions as Biostatistician level I supporting biomedical and publich health research projects across the health sciences fields as a member of the Center for Biostatistics; under the supervision of senior biostatisticians, collaborates with researchers to understand and design aims of research study and identify appropriate statistical analysis plans; conducts, and interprets analyses of biomedical and public health research projects using descriptive statistics, basic inferential tests, and advanced statistical procedures under supervision of senior biostatisticians; writes programs using statistical software and other programming languages; serves as database manager for research projects; assists in preparation of journal articles, technical reports and grant submissions; develops and prepares new statistical programs targeted at needs of an ongoing projects; attends research project meetings, statistical seminars and workshops.

        Salary Range: $62,000 - 68,000
