To improve the coordination and delivery of biomedical informatics and biostatistics services for the Medical Center and College of Medicine research community, Ohio State’s Center for Biostatistics will become an operating unit within the Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI).
One goal in making this change is to provide researchers with a single “front door” to access analytic expertise related to project and protocol design, data capture, data management and data analysis.
This move will provide members of the Center for Biostatistics with an academic home and will ensure the continued growth of innovative methodologies and support the opportunities in career development for members of the center.
Susan Geyer, PhD, will serve as interim director for the Center while OSUMC conducts a national search. Dr. Geyer has worked at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center since 2009. In this role, she will report to Philip Payne, PhD, chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics.
