Peter J. Embi, MD, MS, FACP, FACMI
, associate professor and associate dean for research informatics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and director of the Division of Clinical and Translational Informatics in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, was recently appointed to serve as member of the Board of Scientific Counselors, Lister Hill Center at the National Library of Medicine (NLM), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
As a Board of Scientific Counselors member, Dr. Embi will evaluate the performance of intramural scientists and the quality of their research programs, which represent an integral part of the overall NIH’s mission. In addition to evaluating the individual performance of scientists, Dr. Embi’s ideas and recommendations will help to inform the NLM’s intramural program, allocation of resources, specific projects including new areas of development and ways to encourage higher risk, high pay-off projects in the intramural program.
Dr. Embi joined the College in 2010 from the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center where he was associate professor of clinical medicine and director of the Center for Health Informatics.
