CSEAC is proud to partner with the Ohio Department of Health Pregnancy-Associated Mortality Review Program and the Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center to offer telehealth training opportunities for women’s health providers throughout the state of Ohio. This project seeks to train women’s health providers to provide sensitive and culturally competent care in a telehealth encounter through free, educational opportunities and simulated encounters to practice patient interactions and shared decision-making in vulnerable populations of pregnant and postpartum women.

The Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center will offer a series of free webinars focused on all things telehealth. Including but not limited to the foundations of virtual care including optimizing telehealth workflow logistics, virtual visit etiquette, virtual physical examination considerations, billing, and more. If interested, you can find additional information, the webinar schedule, and access the registration at Upper Midwest Telehealth Resource Center.

CSEAC, in collaboration with ODH, will offer trainings on telehealth delivery for women’s health providers. Participants will practice their telehealth delivery skills through simulated encounters. Simulated scenarios will include acute and chronic disease management of pregnant and post-partum patients via telehealth.

We will offer three types of trainings:

  1. Telehealth 1: Virtual Telehealth Training for Women’s Health Providers: Enhancing Provider to Patient Communication - Learn the fundamentals of telehealth to optimize your patient care. Topics covered will include virtual encounter etiquette, efficient workflow management, co-management, and virtual patient assessment in a variety of encounters with pregnant and postpartum women. This training is open to all women’s health providers. To see available dates and to register, click here.

  2. Telehealth 2: Virtual Telehealth Training for Women’s Health Providers: Optimizing Consultations as a Specialist - This session expands upon the well-known “curbside consult”, with a specific focus on the role of specialists in providing remote consultation and co-management encounters to women’s health providers. These sessions will cover telehealth techniques to enhance communication and technical skills to effectively serve as a resource to non-specialist providers. Simulation experiences will focus on both synchronous and asynchronous consultations with remote providers on the management of both chronic and acute conditions in maternal patients.
