The Ohio State University College of Medicine strives to offer the best, state-of-the-art resources and benefits to its students, including all residents and fellows. On-Call Facilities: Residents and fellows on-call have access to vending, lounge, computer and sleeping facilities. Sleep rooms each include a TV, computer and shower for residents and fellows.

On-Call Meals: Funding for meals is provided for residents and fellows on in-house call. There is also an after hours food room available from 6pm-6am daily for use by residents and fellows on call.

Lab Coats and Dry Cleaning: Residents and fellows are provided with two OSUWMC white lab coats each year of training. Lab coats and work-related clothing may be dry cleaned at no charge throughout training.

Professional Memberships: All residents and fellows are provided with memberships in the Columbus Medical Association (CMA), Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) and American Medical Association (AMA) while they are in an OSUMC training program.

Counseling and Support: The Program Director and Associate Medical Director can provide counseling or a consultation referral related to personal problems that arise due to the trainee's participation in the program and/or that could affect the ability of the resident/fellow to perform his or her professional duties.

  • Ohio State Faculty and Staff Assistance Program: Confidential counseling services for Ohio State employees and their families experiencing distress.
  • OSUWMC Department of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Care: Chaplains assist patients, families and Ohio State Medical Center physicians and staff in meeting spiritual and emotional needs. Sanctuary and meditation rooms are located throughout the hospital. A chaplain is on call 24 hours per day and can be reached through the hospital operator.
  • Ohio State Employee Assistance Program: You don’t have to manage life’s challenges alone. As an OSU faculty or staff member, you have access to the Ohio State Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which offers complimentary services and tools to help get you through the rough spots.
