OECRD Events

The Office of Evaluation, Curriculum Research and Development coordinates faculty development activities which promote and develop skills that enhance the quality of health sciences education: Activities are designed to assist in the development of outstanding teachers, curriculum leaders, and educational scholars.

Spring Symposium

Each spring, our faculty gather for the annual College of Medicine Spring Symposium.  This daylong event focuses on teaching skills in the clinical setting and faculty development.  The goal of this event is to allow clinical faculty the opportunity to build upon their teaching skills through engaging sessions and interactive workshops.  

Fall Celebration of Scholarship

The annual College of Medicine Fall Celebration of Scholarship is a daylong event that focuses on the promotion of educational research and scholarship.  Faculty who are involved in medical education across the health sciences are encouraged to submit posters and oral presentations to be selected for the event.  Part of the purpose of the fall celebration is to encourage interprofessional​ collaboration and the poster viewing is an opportunity for faculty to see research that is happing across the medical center and health sciences. ​

#EDTECH30 Community (8/16) Podcasting Tales from​ the Trenches with Dr. Mike
​Join the College of Medicine's Educational Technology Team for the next #EDTECH30, a community focused on empowering educators with new ideas, skills and resources by reviewing an emerging tool or innovative teaching approach. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16th from 12-1PM in 1063 Graves Hall. This month come learn from Dr. Michael Patrick about how he created and established PediaCast, an evidence based award winning educational podcast for doctors, nurses, students and parents.
