OECRD Events

The Office of Evaluation, Curriculum Research and Development coordinates faculty development activities which promote and develop skills that enhance the quality of health sciences education: Activities are designed to assist in the development of outstanding teachers, curriculum leaders, and educational scholars.

Spring Symposium

Each spring, our faculty gather for the annual College of Medicine Spring Symposium.  This daylong event focuses on teaching skills in the clinical setting and faculty development.  The goal of this event is to allow clinical faculty the opportunity to build upon their teaching skills through engaging sessions and interactive workshops.  

Please save the date for the 2018 Spring Symposium on Wednesday, May 16 in the Biomedical Research Tower.

Fall Celebration of Scholarship

The annual College of Medicine Fall Celebration of Scholarship is a daylong event that focuses on the promotion of educational research and scholarship.  Faculty who are involved in medical education across the health sciences are encouraged to submit posters and oral presentations to be selected for the event.  Part of the purpose of the fall celebration is to encourage interprofessional​ collaboration and the poster viewing is an opportunity for faculty to see research that is happing across the medical center and health sciences. ​

Please save the date for the 2018 Fall Celebration of Scholarship on Wednesday, October 17 in the Biomedical Research Tower.

Join the College of Medicine’s EdTech Team as they showcase the app versions of your favorite University supported tools in CarmenCanvas, CarmenConnect, and Top Hat.  You will learn strategies for integrating these apps into your course so both you and your students can take immediate advantage of them to increase your engagement and productivity both inside and outside the classroom.  Please be sure to RSVP for the workshop; seating is limited to the first 30 participants. COM EdTech Pecha Kucha Roadshow

Join the College of Medicine’s EdTech team for a fun rapid fire roadshow review of educational technology that can be used to enhance your course or session. Come learn how you can get up and running with: Canvas, Articulate Studio, Mediasite, and Top Hat through the Pecha Kucha presentation format that gives presenters 20 slides using images x 20 seconds/slide. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptop and lunch as there will be time after the presentation for hands-on practice. Please be sure to RSVP for the workshop​; seating is limited to the first 30 participants.
