Collaborative education opportunities
Faculty members of the Department of MI&I strive to develop and teach courses for individuals interested in the fields of microbiology and immunology. These graduate and undergraduate courses are offered through the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program (BSGP) and in collaboration with other departments such as Microbiology and Veterinary Biosciences, the Medical Scientist (MD/PhD) Training Program (MSTP), and the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) Program.

With the integration of several Ohio State programs and departments, a student’s study of the subjects can be very comprehensive. They are given the opportunity to learn about microbiology and immunology through an interdisciplinary lens while finding out how these fields have affects living creatures other than human beings. Starting at the undergraduate level, medical students will also gain hands-on experience using scientific methods that drive the medicine, agriculture and biotechnology industries. If working toward building a comprehensive education, a student can choose to enroll in diverse classes.
