Research Interests
Dr. Jinshan He obtained a Ph.D.degree in molecular biology from Kyoto University, which is one of Japan's most famous universities. He determined the key proteins involved in bacterial high-molecular material transport systems. He has done extensive research on developing new microbial inactivation technologies. His study first reported the mechanism of the inactivation of microorganisms by using the combination of silver and ultraviolet light irradiation. More recently, since his arrival at OSU, his research focuses on cell injury and DNA damage caused by chemical pollution, radiation exposure, and pathogen infection. Additionally, his research focuses on studying proteins related to DNA damage repair such as USP7, XPC, CSB, RNA polymerase II, and p97. He has been studying the important proteins p53, MDM2, TRIM72 (MG53), USP13, USP30, etc., which are mainly related to the body's immunity and cancer. His dream is to discover new antiviral, antibacterial, and anticancer drugs.
