Gregory Lesinski, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor, Medical Oncology and Tsonwin Hai, PhD, Professor, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, are the recent recipients of the College of Medicine's Bridge Funding Grant.
Lesinski's funding will support his study of the mechanisms by which dietary soy can modulate factors related to inflammation and prostate cancer. The funds received will ultimately benefit subsequent OSUCCC core grant renewals and University-sponsored collaborative programs, including the OSU Food Innovation Center and Center for Advancement of Functional Foods Research and Entrepreneurship.
Hai's bridge funding will fund her investigation into the role of ATF3, a stress-inducible gene, in cancer-host interaction. She will use the bridge funds to acquire preliminary data for a new aim focusing on therapeutics of her breast cancer project related to this gene.
The Bridge Funding Grants received by Lesinski and Hai are a valuable tool in advancing cancer research and the Research community as a whole at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine.
