Mission CAIRRS (Consortium for Advancements and Innovations in Restorative and Regenerative Strategies)

CONSORTIUM MISSIONCRMCBT Pillar image.jpg

To create next generation restorative and regenerative medicine solutions through interdisciplinary partnerships at Ohio State University, allied academic institutions, industry collaborators, defense and veteran related agencies.

CONSORTIUM VISION

To engage a comprehensive multidisciplinary collaborative network of academic institutions, federal and state agencies, and private industry associated with The Ohio State University in order to develop and conduct pre-clinical, translational, and clinical research projects designed to advance military, veteran, and civilian applications in restorative and regenerative medicine.  Strategies for potential translation to trauma and combat casualty care, oncology or cancer treatment, and various degenerative disease states in an effort to enhance restoration of certain human conditions to refine and maximize one’s human potential, recovery, and/or rehabilitation.

Ohio State University’s Center for Regenerative Medicine and Cell Based Therapies (CRMCBT) is uniquely positioned among academic medical centers to be a catalyst of innovation in partnerships with state and federal agencies including a focus on the Department of Defense (DOD) and Veteran’s Affairs (VA). The Center includes academic participation from the Colleges of Medicine, Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Arts and Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing. Taking a translational approach to science, the Center’s focus is to rapidly take solutions to people for military and societal benefit. Industry collaborations are essential to enable the translation of our discoveries. MISSION CAIRRS works closely with our allied academic institutions, industry, state, DOD, and VA partners to drive solutions for the most pressing needs for today and tomorrow.
