NIH has released guidance for its implementation of the Congressionally mandated reduction in the salary cap from Executive Level I ($199,700) to Executive Level II ($179,700). The Office of Sponsored Programs is developing a process to allow the university to remain compliant with the new cap while limiting the impact to researchers.
The FY2012 budget also imposes the Level II salary cap on all Department of Health and Human Services entities, not just NIH, AHRQ, and SAMHSA. Entities other than NIH have not yet released implementation guidances. OSP will share additional information as it becomes available.
