Daisy Lausell, MPA, CIP
Senior Director, Research Compliance
Daisy has over 20 years’ experience within the government and non-profit sectors in human subjects research (HSR), animal research, Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC) operations, auditing, conflicts of interest, training and education, export controls, and responsible conduct of research (RCR). An expert in regulatory compliance, process improvement, operations management, and policy-writing, she thrives in developing successful teams of talented individuals who, with their individual strengths, are key contributors in the detection and prevention of noncompliance.
Alana Mahley, BS, CCRP
Research Compliance Senior Analyst
Alana has been with The Ohio State University College of Medicine since 2019 and enjoys learning about the diverse and fascinating research being done here. She is a Certified Clinical Research Professional through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA). She has previously worked as a clinical research coordinator in gene therapy and regulatory research coordinator in radiology. Alana earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Business Administration from the University of the Cumberlands.
Allyson Miller, MPH, CCRP
Research Compliance Consultant
Allyson joined the College of Medicine Office of Research in February 2020. She has been with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center since 2004. She has previously worked as a clinical research coordinator in oncology and vascular diseases, clinical trials auditor, data abstractor, and most recently as a systems analyst supporting OnCore users. Allyson enjoys working with research teams to ensure research is conducted responsibly. Allyson earned both her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Master of Public Health degrees from The Ohio State University.
Sage Schmalenberger, CPhT
Laboratory Research Operations Analyst
Sage joined the College of Medicine in December of 2021. She began her career at Ohio State in 2016 with the Investigational Drug Service as a Pharmacy Technician, eventually assuming the Lead Technician position. She enjoys applying her skills to improve processes and workflows and loves learning how researchers lay the foundation for human subjects research through pre-clinical research at Ohio State while managing the College of Medicine Controlled Substances Program.
Shirley Ventresca, CCRP
Research Compliance Analyst
Shirley has been with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for 23 years and enjoys working with researchers, helping them follow regulations, guidelines, and reporting data so their research is ethical and sound. She is a Certified Clinical Research Professional through the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA).
