Position summary

Staff Nurse-A (Job Opening 460523) - SCOPE OF POSITION: Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University and Harding Hospital are committed to enhancing the quality of care our patients receive. The Registered Nurse-Patient Care Coordinator [RN-PCC] functions as an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team of care providers on a patient care unit, cultivating a culture of collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the RN, Psychiatric Care Technician [PCT], Patient Service Associate [PSA], the Unit Clerical Associate [UCA], and other interdisciplinary staff provide patient care and supportive services that are directed at achieving patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient?s involvement in his/her own care plan, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all team members. Services provided include 24-hour inpatient care, outpatient, and partial hospitalization care for psychiatric patients. POSITION SUMMARY: The RN-PCC is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, directing and supervising unlicensed team members, and collaborating with professional members of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team. The RN-PCC is responsible for assessing, prescribing, implementing, coordinating, delegating the nursing care of patients. The RN-PCC prioritizes patient care needs and provides leadership and development of the patient care team.

Education and experience

Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio R.N. license. Previous nursing experience in a similar care setting, and previous psychiatric nursing experience and current ANCC certification in Mental Health Nursing preferred.
