Karlyn worked in outpatient rehabilitation and as an athletic trainer for local high schools with NovaCare Rehabilitation before joining Ohio State. Karlyn is the head athletic trainer for Columbus School for Girls; providing care, prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for student athletes. She serves as a preceptor to Capital University athletic training students.  

Karlyn has an interest in endurance athletes, particularly nutrition needs and preventing injuries caused by repetitive use.  

She also serves as an assistant swim coach for Unified Aquatic Club, coaches local swim clinics and youth triathlon camps and volunteers for a variety of running, swimming and triathlon events.
