Telehealth Video Visits are scheduled appointments with your Ohio State provider, that give you the option to connect face-to-face without leaving your home. It's a simple, convenient way to keep your health on track from wherever you are.

Your provider can deliver your care using one of several technology tools available including MyChart, Updox and Teams. Learn more about what to expect with each option.

Tips for a successful visit

Confirm what technology your provider is using in advance of your visit. There may be additional instructions for your specific visit. Here are a few tips for having a successful visit:

  • Select a quiet, private, well-lit location with access to a strong internet connection to ensure the privacy and quality of your visit.
  • Have your insurance card, driver’s license and list of current medications with you.
  • Confirm that your device is fully charged and that it can be stabilized on a stationary object.
  • Join your video visit at least five minutes ahead of your appointment time.

Do I need to sign up for MyChart?

A MyChart account is recommended to complete eCheck-in and view follow-up instructions from your provider virtually, but is not required to have a telehealth appointment.

Before your visit, MyChart’s eCheck-in allows you to share medical information with your provider like family history, current medications and details on the reason for your visit. After your visit, receive your follow-up instructions and medication refills online. You can even securely message your provider follow-up questions.

Sign up for a MyChart account using our step-by-step guide. Download the MyHealth app to manage your care with MyChart on your mobile device.
