#OSUCOMmends Campaign

At The Ohio State University College of Medicine (COM), our intent is to increase engagement of current and prospective students by showcasing their personal experiences here with us. We have done our research and studies show that the best way to engage and highlight our students is through Instagram. Through this social media initiative, we will set an example why being a Buckeye at the COM is a remarkable experience.

How do students participate?

Prospective and current medical students of any year can send stories plus photos to our Marketing and Strategic Communications team via Instagram direct message @ohiostatemed. If posting an image to a personal Instagram account, students can use the hashtag #OSUCOMmends to grab our attention.

What are the submission guidelines?

  1. Must be Ohio State focused
  2. Must include why the experience was meaningful
  3. No more than five sentences
  4. Must direct message the COM Instagram account with your submission
  5. No more than four submissions per month, per student

Is there incentive to participate?

Yes. This is a contest. Every month three winners are selected based on the best example of the campaign criteria detailed below. Each winner will get a prize. (Prizes will vary but some examples include an iTunes gift card, mug, T-shirt, etc). Winners will be contacted via Instagram direct message.

  2. The story that best aligns with Lead.Serve.Inspire curriculum values
  3. The story that best aligns with the COM curriculum components
