Each year the Division of Anatomy host Anatomy Outreach Days in early May, inviting high school groups to visit our cadaver labs for an unforgettable experience. In 2022 we expanded our programming to include the use of 5 laboratory spaces, each with its own set of activities and stations focused on the different body systems. This hands-on experience allows students to add context to their anatomy knowledge, to learn about healthy vs. Unhealthy tissues, and to meet our experienced Anatomy Outreach Team members.

More information regarding the 2023 Anatomy Outreach Days, will be available in early spring 2023.

Stats

In 2022 we had 13 schools and 332 students attend the event across two and half days. School groups came from a variety of schools across Ohio, on average traveling 93 miles (round-trip) to visit our labs, ranging from 5 to 216 miles.

Testimonials

“This experience was impactful for my students that not only want to go into health related careers but those with other careers in mind. There is nothing like being able to hold a brain or lungs in your hands; I have no doubt that my students will forever remember this experience. They gained so much from the students presenting and were able to connect with them on a meaningful level. I am looking forward to attending again next year!”
-Abigail Clair, Marysville HS

“I've been coming to the anatomy outreach day with my classes for over a decade now and this by far was the best set-up. We got to see so many more views in each system, which truly helped students to visualize not only that system but how each system interacts with those surrounding it. This has always been such an integral part of my anatomy curriculum because it has literally been the deciding factor for so many as to whether they were going to continue in their chosen field or not.”
