Our Mission

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s quality assurance program in gastrointestinal endoscopy is designed to ensure that standard of care is followed and maintained to provide effective, safe, and patient-centered care. We at OSUWMC not only wish to exceed the standards required but to excel at all aspects of care of our patients. To achieve this goal, our quality assurance program monitor the three aspects of endoscopic service: the structure (endoscopy unit), the process (endoscopic procedure) and the outcome (effect on health status).

We have different policies to ensure the privacy and safety of our patients and staff. Our endoscopy units are equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment, and a large variety of endoscopic procedures are performed by highly trained physicians. Due to the large number of endoscopic procedures performed at our units, we will be relying on a reputable software to quantify and benchmark quality measures that are directly linked to specific healthcare outcomes. Most importantly, our quality assurance program uses our patient satisfaction surveys to evaluate and improve our service and care.
