Global Health Interest Group

The Global Health Interest Group hosts quarterly meetings and lectures on cross-cutting global health topics. In addition, the group hosts an annual Global Health Symposium, facilitates mentorships, connects residents with global health rotations, and hosts pre-departure training for rotators.

Global Health Symposium

The OSUWMC Global Health Symposium is held each Spring by the Global Health Interest Group. The event features a nationally recognized global health professional as a keynote speaker as well as several submitted presentations from experts in the field. For more information regarding the next Global Health Symposium, please email OSUGlobalHealth@osumc.edu.

Mentorships

Mentorships are a valuable tool for the professional and personal development of global health physicians. The Global Health Interest Group aims to connect mentors and mentees with similarly interested faculty and residents to help promote growth amongst themselves.

International Rotations

Ohio State Residents have traveled the globe, having rotated at dozens of sites in over 20 countries. Each year the Global Health Interest Group connects residents with meaningful global health rotations and assists them with being fully prepared to take on the challenges that they will face.

In collaboration with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Global Health Program, a pre-departure training and global health career day is hosted annually.
