Department Chairs are responsible for ensuring that workload is distributed equitably among the faculty. The university policies pertaining to this are found at: http://oaa.osu.edu/OAAP_PHandbook.php. In addition, each department's Patterns of Administration has specific information about how workload assignments are determined. Disagreements regarding workload assignments should be discussed with the chairperson. If a resolution cannot be achieved, the matter can be brought through the departmental level appeals mechanism as defined by the Patterns of Administration. In the event that resolution cannot be achieved through the departmental appeals mechanism, the issue can be brought to the College Grievance and Appeals Committee through the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
