Ohio State’s College of Medicine Office of Faculty Affairs ensures that junior and mid-career faculty have the support, information and resources they need for career development.

Faculty in the College of Medicine may be appointed to one of four tracks, with the majority of faculty appointed to either the regular tenure track or the regular clinical track. At The Ohio State University College of Medicine, these tracks are viewed as parallel tracks. Faculty on both tracks are expected to be engaged in teaching, service and scholarship, but these tracks differ on the relative distribution and nature of these activities.

In addition to these tracks faculty may be appointed to the regular research track, or to the associated track. In these two tracks the pattern of activity and responsibility tends to be more focused on a single area (i.e. research or patient care).
