* Employment year is the Academic Year (AY) the faculty member is hired, i.e. July 1 – June 30. Please note: If a faculty members begins prior to March 1 their review year is retroactive to the beginning of the AY. For instance, if Dr. Smith’s appointment date is February 1, 2010, his employment year is AY 2009/2010. Therefore, he loses 7 months in pursuit of tenure.
¹ For faculty members on the shorter track, tenure is granted in the seventh year (in parentheses) following the mandatory 6th year review. For those not granted tenure, it is the terminal year of employment.
