Breanne Anstine, who is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) at the Ohio State General Internal Medicine Clinic in Stoneridge, links her patients with community resources and provides short-term mental health therapy with a focus on depression and anxiety. She works with psychiatry and primary care teams at OSU to provide psychiatric, collaborative care management to patients.
Breanne’s therapeutic approach is interpersonal in nature. She strongly believes in meeting the individual where they’re at, and enjoys assisting them in finding hope, and more fulfilling personal and professional lives. She uses relaxation/stress reduction techniques, supportive listening, general coping strategies, goal-setting, behavioral activation and patient education to help her patients grow. Depending on the situation of the patient in question, Breanne employs such therapeutic approaches as Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Mindfulness and Client-Centered Therapy.
Breanne started in her current position in 2017, after spending 10 years practicing medical social work with a neurological focus. Prior to that, she graduated with honors from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Art in psychology and completed her Master of Social Work degree at The Ohio State University. Post-graduation, she participated in multiple trainings for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She was inducted into The International Honor Society in Psychology in 2004.
