MedTAPP Service Based Forgivable Loans

Service is a foundational value that drives everything that we do at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. In addition to traditional scholarships, students in our program are provided with opportunities to apply for funding through a service commitment scholarship/forgivable loan program. These programs offer students the ability to earn funding toward their tuition, fees, and other educational expenses in exchange for their signed commitment to perform qualifying service. The Medicaid Technical Assistance & Policy Program (MedTAPP) provides limited funding for these types of forgivable loans. The program is subject to annual appropriation. Funding for service committment scholarships will not be available every year. Students will be notified through their Medical Center e-mail when applications for forgivable loans are being accepted. In general, these forgivable loans are availabile only during the student's clinical years (3rd and 4th year). The required forms for tracking required service are provided for download.
