“Research is an absolutely crucial element of our success, and it’s led to some remarkable advancements in patient care,” says department chair Timothy Pawlik, MD, PhD, MPH. “The engagement and outcomes of our research teams, including principal investigators, post-docs, students, technicians and support staff, continue to awe me. Our NIH rankings ultimately reflect the resolution and vision of our entire clinical, basic and translational research team, and I’m particularly grateful to Judy Opalek, PhD, director of Research Administration, for her leadership in administrating our research endeavors and ensuring our funding data are up-to-date and accurate for ranking purposes.”
