About
Biography
I am the Executive Director and Principal Investigator of the Ohio State Genomic Health research intiative and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center's partnership with Helix, as part of the Helix Research Network. I graduated from The Ohio State University with my Master of Science in Molecular Pathology.
In 2004, I was recruited by Ohio State and served as a Co-Investigator on the NIH-funded OSU-Coriell Personalized Medicine Collaborative research study, a faculty adviser, thesis adviser, and course director for the OSU College of Medicine’s Genetic Counseling Graduate Program, a member on the Department’s Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee, and a member of the Biomedical IRB, among multiple additional roles across the tripartite mission.
I have over 125 publications across the fields of cardiovascular genetics, scientific statements and expert consensus guidelines on genetic testing, familial hypercholesterolemia, population genomic screening, rare disease genetics, and implementation science for the field of clinical genomics. I have served in multiple national leadership positions, boards, and committees, including President of the National Society of Genetic Counselors in 2019, Chair of the Advisory Board to the NIH All of Us Research Program’s Genetic Counseling Resource, an Invited Member of the Million Veteran Program Return of Actionable Results Study, the Family Heart Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board, the Genomics and Precision Medicine Leadership Committee of the American Heart Association, among others.
