About

Biography

I am a licensed psychologist whose background and training reflect my commitment to the use of evidence-based psychotherapy. As such, I am a Fellow of both the Association of Behavior and Cognitive Therapy and the Academy of Cognitive Therapy of which I am also a Certified Trainer/Consultant.

My research efforts have concentrated on the use of cognitive behavior therapy for the treatment of anxiety disorders. Over the past several years, my research and clinical interests have focused on the prevalence and treatment of anxiety in individuals with heart disease.

I direct the Behavioral Cardiology service and in that capacity I am engaged in research, clinical service, and the education of our trainees. I also have courtesy appointments as Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine/Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and in the Department of Psychology at Ohio State.
