About

Biography

I am Professor and Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology within The Ohio State University College of Medicine. A reproductive and perinatal epidemiologist by training, my primary areas of expertise include the identification and amelioration of modifiable risk factors for fecundity impairment, the prevention of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, and innovations in field-based data collection. I am a National Institutes of Health-funded investigator and has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals. I am a Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology.

In addition to serving as a professional and research mentor for resident physicians, fellows and early career faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, I hold a courtesy appointment in the Division of Epidemiology in The Ohio State University College of Public Health, where I serve as a mentor and advisor for both master's and doctoral students in epidemiology.

I am a past president of the Society for Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiologic Research. I am a member of the steering committee for the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Research Consortium. I recently served as the chair of the maternal-fetal biology study section for the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. I serve as an associate editor for the journal Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology and as a methods editor for the journal Fertility & Sterility.
