About

Biography

I am an associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Education and Anatomy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and I specialize in bioethics and education, focusing specifically on bioethics law. My research focuses on exploring ethical issues at the intersection of health care and law, as well as on advancing approaches to teaching and learning in the health professions.

In the Division of Bioethics, I serve as interim division director and director of Bioethics Graduate Programs. I also serve as vice chair for faculty success in the Department of Biomedical Education and Anatomy and am a member of the Center for Bioethics.

My work examines the ethical dimensions of medical practice and policies, focusing on where law and health care intersect. I also focus on furthering ethics education through program development and research in this area. I am particularly interested in how bioethical approaches can inform health law and policy, professional development and health professions education. Through my scholarship, I seek to promote thoughtful, evidence-informed approaches to addressing complex ethical challenges in clinical, legal, policy and educational settings.

I am committed to advancing bioethics education through research, teaching and collaboration. My interests include developing effective educational strategies for learners across the continuum of medical training and fostering ethical reasoning skills that support compassionate, patient-centered care and policies
