About
Biography
My scholarly work centers on alcohol use disorders, and I have led some of the most widely cited research on this topic. I led the federally funded STop UNhealthy Alcohol Use Now (STUN I) and STop UNhealthy Substance Use Now (STUN II) trials, which focused on strategies to increase screening, counseling and evidence-based interventions for substance use disorders in primary care settings. I have led multiple clinical trials, observational studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and quality improvement projects with continuous funding from multiple agencies and institutes. I am a frequent contributor to top-tier medical journals, such as JAMA.
