About
Biography
My research centers on Fournier’s gangrene, urologic reconstruction, necrotizing soft tissue infections (NSTIs), and resident physician education. In The Ohio State University College of Medicine, we are developing the nation’s largest, single‑institution Fournier’s gangrene database, with the goal of establishing a modern NSTI standard that prioritizes life‑saving interventions and long‑term quality of life outcomes.
My team is currently enrolling patients in a clinical trial evaluating optimal catheterization duration following urethral reconstruction, as well as assessing chlorhexidine irrigation as a potential alternative to saline during trials of void to reduce antibiotic use at catheter removal. In parallel, we are designing a multidisciplinary, evidence‑based care pathway to streamline and enhance NSTI management across the institution.
We are also gathering national data on suprapubic tube training within urology residency programs and leading a multi‑institutional study aimed at better understanding and defining urethroplasty education in residency.
I appreciate the commitment to innovation here in The Ohio State College of Medicine, and the readily available resources that allow me to pursue highly complex research.
