About
Biography
I am a professor of Cardiac Surgery. I investigate the factors that control normal structure and intracellular signaling in cardiac and skeletal muscle physiology and diseases. Specifically, I am interested in whether we can enhance transverse tubular structure and function in the treatment of muscular dystrophy; how to fine‑tune the balance among intracellular cell death pathways, such as necroptosis, apoptosis, and autophagy for cardiac and skeletal muscle protection; and how to rejuvenate stem cell function to enhance tissue regeneration during the aging process.
