About
Biography
As a hepatologist, I specialize in caring for patients with liver disease and liver cancer. I also treat patients in need of liver transplants.
I believe education is the foundation of effective, comprehensive care. I’m passionate about making sure my patients understand their diagnosis and are aware of all of the options available to them, especially patients who have struggled to access quality medical care in the past.
My research is focused on disparities in health care and how to improve access for everyone. I have published multiple peer-reviewed publications on disparities in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma and on efforts to improve outcomes in patients with liver disease. I have presented both nationally and in the state of Ohio.
It’s been a privilege to return to The Ohio State University and help to train the next generation of physicians in my role as an associate professor. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine here, as well as additional training in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology. Before that, I completed my undergraduate education in chemistry at Bethany College and medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, hiking and biking with my husband.
