About

Biography

I am an Associate Professor of Biomedical Education and Anatomy at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. My work focuses on health literacy, patient communication, primary care research, and innovative approaches to biomedical and global health education. I have authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications examining patient education materials, medication instructions, health communication, and healthcare access.

I am a recognized leader in undergraduate research and global health education. I created and lead a course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE)—the only program of its kind in The Ohio State University College of Medicine—through which students design, analyze, and disseminate biomedical and healthcare research. I have also developed and led undergraduate education abroad programs examining health systems and public health in Finland, Estonia, North Macedonia, and Greece, providing students with comparative perspectives on global healthcare delivery.

A recipient of multiple Fulbright awards, I have conducted teaching and research collaborations in Moldova, North Macedonia, and Vietnam focused on strengthening primary care research, medical education, and international academic partnerships.
