About
Biography
I, Michael Lyaker, am an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. In 2020, I assumed the role of director for the anesthesiology critical care medicine fellowship. Teaching and learning go hand in hand at an academic center, and I am extremely proud to work with a large, enthusiastic group of critical care specialists who inspire, lead and educate every day. In addition to critical care and education, my areas of interest include improving health care quality and management of critical events. As such, I serve on several hospital committees including the Anesthesiology Quality Committee, Trauma Quality Management Committee and the Code Blue Emergency Response Team Committee. In 2019, I helped start the Ohio State Difficult Airway Response Team. This multidisciplinary team responds to respiratory emergencies in patients who have a difficult airway and are at risk for severe complications.
