About
Biography
Through collaborative research, I strive to find better therapies and cures for my current and future patients. I have authored over 600 scholarly papers, abstracts, and book chapters, and I have presented at national and regional conferences on the latest interventional therapies. I have been recognized for my contributions to the field by prestigious research honors, national/international academic awards and grants, and my innovative work has been featured in multiple news media outlets. As a recognition of my efforts in this area, I serve as director of scholarly activity and research in the Department of Radiology.
I also serve in a variety of leadership roles, as well as on institutional and national committees, to contribute to the advancement of the field and advocate for patients and their medical needs. I'm a member of several professional societies, including the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), the Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO), the American College of Radiology (ACR), the Society of Vascular Medicine (SVM), the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE).
Teaching and mentorship are central to my academic mission. I am committed to educating the next generation of physicians through clinical teaching, scholarly mentorship, and the development of trainees at all levels, including medical students, residents, and fellows. I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that emphasizes clinical reasoning, technical excellence, evidence-based practice, innovation, and compassionate patient care. In recognition of my dedication to education and mentorship, I was honored to receive the Department of Radiology Excellence in Teaching Award. I have also had the privilege of being frequently sought out by trainees and early-career physicians nationally for mentorship and career development, and been recognized nationally by the Society of Interventional Radiology for such efforts.
