About
Biography
I am a non-practicing physician and bioethicist with a PhD in Bioethics and Health Humanities. My work focuses on the intersection of neuroscience, ethics, and human agency.
My doctoral research explores the neurobiology of human selfhood and its implications for free will, moral agency, and neurorights. I am passionate about protecting cognitive liberty and advancing ethical frameworks to address emerging scientific and technological developments. My background combines medical training with an interdisciplinary perspective shaped by bioethics and the humanities.
I enjoy working across diverse cultural and linguistic contexts and believe cultural sensitivity is an essential part of healthcare. My academic and professional interests include clinical ethics consultation, the philosophy of science, human consciousness, bioethics and the Supreme Court of the United States, and the moral dimensions of medicine.
My goal is to contribute to healthcare as a teacher and practitioner of clinical ethics while continuing to explore the ethical challenges posed by modern neuroscience and technology.
Outside of my professional work, I am married and have three children. My wife is an internist and hospitalist. I am also an avid book collector and enjoy long-distance driving.
