About

Biography

I graduated from medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where I stayed for my neurology residency and received the Fred Baskin Young Investigator Award for my research on the efficacy of MS disease-modifying therapies with age. I finished a 2-year fellowship in MS at Mount Sinai, which was funded by the Sylvia Lawry Physician Fellowship grant. During fellowship, I also earned a Masters in Clinical Research before joining OSU in 2021.

My NIH-funded research at OSU seeks to understand mechanisms of biological aging in MS as reflected by biomarkers of senescence and epigenetic alterations and their associations with MS disease outcomes. I am also interested in distinguishing age-related changes from MS-related disease progression in older adults with MS. My goal is to develop novel therapeutics and treatment strategies for patients by taking into consideration a person’s unique aging biology to mitigate disability and functional decline in MS and related disorders.
