About
Biography
I am a Research Assistant Professor of Cardiac Surgery. My research specifically focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in post-injury cardiac fibrosis. Cardiac fibrosis is a major cause of heart failure.
In my studies, my group has identified novel genes and pathways that play critical roles in regulating cardiac fibrotic remodeling following myocardial infarction and other injuries. Our long-term goal is to target these novel genes to develop effective therapies for treating cardiac fibrosis and heart failure.
