For the OSU College of Medicine Class of 2011, June marks the end of lectures, exercises, tutorials and practice sessions and the beginning of their two year residency programs.
On June 2, this group of 220 OSU medical students gathered together to begin a day-long celebration, culminating with the traditional hooding ceremony.
The day began with a morning hooding rehearsal for the graduating class, followed by a senior barbecue luncheon held under the tent in front of Meiling Hall for graduating students, families and friends. A mid-day honors convocation recognized outstanding students from the graduating class for their leadership, academic excellence, commitment to professionalism and service to patients, as well as faculty chosen by the class for their teaching excellence and guidance.The 2011 Professor of the Year award was presented to David P. The day ended with a hooding ceremony at Mershon Auditorium, followed by an outdoor reception.
