Hamilton Hall: Where great minds become leading healthcare professionals

At the Ohio State College of Medicine, we educate compassionate and bright physicians who are thoroughly prepared to serve the diverse and changing needs of patients and communities. The innovative design of Hamilton Hall – our college’s home – and the IHSC integrates learning, collaboration, connection and student wellness to create a comprehensive environment designed to support the whole learner. Small and medium-sized classrooms, fitted with state-of-the-art technology like virtual reality simulators, enable hands-on, interactive learning. Medical students participate in collaborative interprofessional learning experiences with students from other health science disciplines, preparing them to meet challenges as part of a healthcare team.

At the forefront of innovation and advanced technology

The IHSC is equipped with flexible learning spaces and the latest education technology to support instruction and collaboration. This includes a contemporary Anatomy Wing, which is home to six large dissection rooms that feature high-tech microscopes and ultrasound for exploring the human body, as well as a “command center” with surgical lighting and high-definition cameras that allow learners to view demonstrations in real time and revisit recorded sessions. Other technological advancements include an electronic health record learning environment, digital and virtual anatomy resources and designated testing spaces.

The facility is just steps away from several Ohio State Wexner Medical Center hospitals – including University Hospital and The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute – offering students close proximity to clinical learning environments.
