Amanda Thatcher, MAAs the top administrative and communications leader in the College of Medicine, Amanda works closely with the dean of the college and the chief communications and marketing officer of the Wexner Medical Center to help shape the college’s strategic priorities. She oversees a variety of operations, develops and implements strategies and tactics to ensure effective and efficient business operations, and promotes an inclusive environment where all feel like they belong and have the opportunity to thrive. Amanda is a key member of the executive leadership team and helps to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the college while also managing long-term planning for optimal success.

Drawing on her background in communications, Amanda advises leadership on the overall communications strategy and tactics being used to enhance engagement and build national reputation for the College of Medicine. She provides direction, develops and executes marketing and communications strategies that support the strategic initiatives of the college and the Wexner Medical Center.

Prior to this role, Amanda served as senior director of administration in the College of Medicine from 2021-24. Before joining Ohio State, she served as the academic chief of staff and director of communications for the University of Michigan Medical School. She currently serves as chair of the Professional Development Committee for the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Business Affairs. She holds an MA in Organizational Leadership from Lewis University.
